Be sure to have a good experience in training before doing plyometrics and explosive push ups, and of course mastering the basic push up is required).
Use a soft surface and/or protection for your face
DON'T rush and try things you can not manage. Always master the BASICS FIRST (and each level) before heading for next step.
Avoid anything you don't feel comfortable with, and if you have any training related injuries or weaknesses.
Have in mind that with a poor technique it can be stressful for the joints. Work from basics and step it up by time. Learn to master, and land softly when it comes to this type of push ups.
